At CHIWORK, we believe in respect, understanding, and inclusion. We want our conference to be a place where community members can freely share ideas, which requires welcoming diversity in opinion and background. All CHIWORK community members will act in accordance with these values, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sigchi.org\/about\/code-of-conduct\/\">SIGCHI Code of Conduct<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/about-acm\/policy-against-harassment\">ACM Policy Against Harassment<\/a> in order to create a space where every member can express themselves without fear of judgment or harassment. We summarize the expected and unacceptable behaviour below, adapting language from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cscw.acm.org\/2025\/index.php\/code-of-conduct\/\">CSCW Code of Conduct <\/a>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/about-acm\/policy-against-harassment\">ACM Policy Against Harassment<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Expected Behavior<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We expect all participants to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Treat everyone with respect and consideration; under the umbrella of respect, we expect all participants to be mindful of their speech and behaviours both in person and online;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Refrain\u202d \u202cfrom\u202d \u202cdemeaning,\u202d \u202cdiscriminatory,\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202charassing\u202d \u202cbehavior\u202d \u202cand\u202d \u202cspeech;\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Be\u202d \u202cmindful\u202d \u202cof\u202d \u202cyour\u202d \u202csurroundings\u202d \u202cand\u202d \u202cof\u202d \u202cyour\u202d \u202cfellow\u202d \u202cparticipants\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c;\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Being respectful and mindful in your critique of ideas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Alert\u202d \u202ccommunity\u202d \u202cleaders\u202d \u202cif\u202d \u202cyou\u202d \u202cnotice\u202d \u202ca\u202d \u202cdangerous\u202d \u202csituation,\u202d \u202csomeone\u202d \u202cin\u202d distress, or violations of this policy, even if they seem inconsequential;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Respecting participants&#8217; wishes to not be photographed, respecting their gender pronouns, respecting their space, and their right to engage or disengage in conversation;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unacceptable Behaviour<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or abuse in any form. Harassment can occur when there is no deliberate intention to offend. Be careful in the words that you choose. Harassment committed in a joking manner or disguised as a compliment still constitutes unacceptable behaviour. Participants who engage in harassment may be removed from the conference at the discretion of the organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Harassment includes, but is not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Unwelcome comments regarding a person\u2019s lifestyle choices and practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Intimidating,\u202d \u202charassing,\u202d \u202cabusive,\u202d \u202cdiscriminatory,\u202d \u202cderogatory\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202cdemeaning\u202d \u202cspeech\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202cactions\u202d \u202cby\u202d \u202cany\u202d \u202cparticipant\u202d\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Offensive, degrading, humiliating, harmful, \u202cor\u202d \u202cprejudicial\u202d \u202cverbal\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202cwritten\u202d \u202ccomments or visual images\u202d \u202crelated\u202d \u202cto\u202d \u202cgender,\u202d \u202csexual\u202d \u202corientation,\u202d \u202crace,\u202d \u202creligion,\u202d class=\"\">Unwelcome sexual attention or physical contact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sustained disruption of presentations, events, or online discussions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Comments that reinforce social structures of domination (related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Inappropriate\u202d \u202cor gratuitous use\u202d \u202cof\u202d \u202cnudity\u202d,\u202d \u202csexual\u202d \u202cimages, or stereotyped images\u202d \u202cincluding\u202d using an activity\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c\u202c-related communication channel to display or distribute \u202cstalking\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202cfollowing\u202d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Harassing\u202d \u202cphotography\u202d \u202cor\u202d \u202crecording\u202d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Physical assault (including unwelcome touch or groping);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Real or implied threat of physical harm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">If\u202d \u202ca\u202d \u202cparticipant in an ACM activity\u202d \u202cengages\u202d \u202cin\u202d \u202cprohibited behavior,\u202d ACM \u202creserves the right to take any action ACM deems\u202d \u202cappropriate.
