This aim is supported by the following specific goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Scientific Research:<\/strong> CHIWORK will promote scientific research in HCI and related fields to improve the future of work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact on Practice:<\/strong> CHIWORK will foster the creation and implementation of practical technology solutions that support individuals, teams, and organizations in the evolving work landscape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Policy Resource:<\/strong> CHIWORK will serve as a resource for policymakers by providing evidence-based insights and recommendations to inform policy decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Building<\/strong>: CHIWORK will build and maintain a community of experts who can support, and continuously improve, its scientific, practice-related, and policy-related work.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHIWORK Guiding Values<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work is guided by the following core values:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Scientific Evidence and Relevance: <\/strong>The scholarly work published at CHIWORK will be driven by scientific approaches, based on evidence, and solving relevant problems in the future of work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Welcoming All Perspectives: <\/strong>We recognize the importance of different backgrounds and experiences. We are building an environment where everyone is valued and given the support they need to thrive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accessibility:<\/strong> We are committed to ensuring that our work and events are accessible to all participants, regardless of abilities or backgrounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainability:<\/strong> We strive to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainable work practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ethics and Responsibility:<\/strong> We emphasize ethical design and responsible implementation of technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHIWORK Approaches to Generating New Knowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Interdisciplinary Work:<\/strong> CHIWORK brings together a growing community of experts from interconnected fields such as computer science, engineering, psychology, economics, geography, and anthropology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expanding Community:<\/strong> The symposium aims to increase the number of contributors working to tackle CHIWORK\u2019s core questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Participatory Design and Co-Creation.<\/strong> We emphasize that workers should have a voice in the design and deployment of workplace technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Knowledge Sharing and Open Science.<\/strong> We encourage open science practices by making findings and resources publicly available (e.g., code repositories, toolkits).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHIWORK Approaches to Building a Community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Community-Based Government:<\/strong> CHIWORK is led by the CHIWORK Steering Committee.
