CHIWORK 2022 and Covid-19

Posted: February 10, 2022

The organizers of CHIWORK 2022 recognize the unpredictable nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the different individual constraints of CHIWORK participants to attend an in-person event in June 2022 in the USA. For this reason we will take the following actions.

  1. The CHIWORK annual meeting will be a hybrid event.
    • Participants who cannot attend in person will be able to present their work remotely.
    • We will provide online access to keynotes and panels. We will prioritize the timing of these events to allow broad attendance around the globe. We will attempt to also provide online access to all other content.
    • Registration policy will accommodate changes. Participants will receive a refund for the in-person attendance fee, if requested.
  1. At the physical event we will take active measures to help keep everyone healthy:
    • Each day we will provide N95 or KN95 masks for all attendees who request them.
    • For all events we will provide adequate room for social distancing.
    • Each day we will provide mandatory rapid tests for all participants before they enter common areas. Only participants with negative tests will be allowed to enter.
    • For gatherings that include food and/or drinks, we will provide opportunities to eat/drink outdoors, or in well-ventilated indoor locations.
    • We will follow US CDC guidelines related to Covid-19, as well as University of New Hampshire and state of New Hampshire guidelines, when applicable.
  1. Starting with April 8, 2022, we will continuously keep track of the Covid-19 situation using resources provided by the US CDC, the University of New Hampshire, and the state of New Hampshire. If the Covid-19 situation deteriorates, we will update our approach accordingly. We will notify the CHIWORK community promptly on this webpage, on Twitter (@CHIWORKsymp), and by direct email (e.g. if you register).
